Astrid & Miyu is a British fashion jewellery brand. The founder of Astrid & Miyu, Connie Nam, was born in Seoul, South Korea, but grew up in the United States. In 2009, she came to London to study for an MBA. The collision of diverse Eastern and Western cultures gave Connie a very unique insight into fashion. At the end of 2011, Asrtid & Miyu, a trendy jewelry brand, was officially launched in London. The words "Astrid" and "Miyu" may seem unfamiliar at first glance, especially the latter "Miyu", which reads like a "ridicule" in pinyin. "Astrid" is a Swedish name and "Miyu" is a Japanese name, both meaning a woman "exceptionally beautiful", which is what they set up for the brand Purpose - "Let you become an extraordinarily beautiful woman".
