As an independent operating brand under H&M, Arket's product line includes women's clothing, men's clothing, children's clothing and home furnishing series. It is positioned as a mid-to-high-end brand, focusing on high-quality and practical wear. The price is similar to COS, taking a pair of socks as an example, the price will be about 5? euros, and the price of a suit and coat is about 170 euros and 300 , to democratize quality with durable products that are designed to be used and loved for a long time.
In order to make every piece of clothing no longer pursue "fast fashion" and focus on high-quality evergreen items, Arket?'s design team also studies the craftsmanship of vintage clothing, and invites in-house knitting craftsmen to carefully customize the knitting method. For example, for knitted sweaters, a core technology, Cotton GSM??, is specially studied and applied to Arket clothes weaving. There are four kinds of yarns in total. The higher the gsm, the denser the fabric will be.
In addition to this, Arket has designed a unique yarn, made from organic merino wool, that runs throughout the collection and serves as the basis for every style. Based on mathematical formulas, a series of optimal thread and needle combinations were developed to design various textures on knitwear.
Arket's first store opened on 25 August 2017 in London's Regent Street and online, followed by stores in Copenhagen, Brussels and Munich. The headquarters and design studio are located in 83-year-old Maria Skolgata in Stockholm.
