Founded in 2004, Grubhub is the oldest major food delivery company in the United States. One day in 2004, a hungry Matt Maloney (the founder of GrubHub) discovered that to order takeout at his favorite restaurant, he had to call in from an outdated paper menu. As a programmer, Maloney saw the business opportunity and founded GrubHub with his partner Mike Evans, allowing users to search for restaurants based on their location and preferences, and order takeout through online reservations and telephone reservations.
