Born and raised in New York, ArtSugar founder Alix Greenberg spent nearly a decade working in the fine art industry before founding it in 2017. With a BFA from Cornell University and a Masters in Education from Christie's, Alix combined her love of painting and art history with her passion for giving back to the community, and ArtSugar was born. Alix runs ArtSugar in New York City's West Village. She is a member of The Female Founders Collective, a 2019 36 Under 36 Jewish Week winner, an alumnus of Project Entrepreneur (Rent the Runway Foundation x UBS), and an alumnus of VentureCrush.
ArtSugar is a woman-founded e-commerce retailer that pioneered art curation for the Instagram generation. ArtSugar addresses the challenges millennials and Gen Z face when buying art, successfully bridging the gap between mass-produced wall art and home decor and high-end The Gap Between Original Art Market Artists on Instagram, curated by founder and fine artist Alix Greenberg. ArtSugar provides a seamless e-commerce platform for people to buy artwork they "like" on platforms such as social media.
