Sonic Corporation, formerly Sonic Drive-In, commonly referred to as Sonic, or "The Drive-In," is an American drive-in restaurant chain owned by Inspire Brands, the parent company of Arby's and Buffalo Wild Wings. As of 2022, 3,549 Sonic restaurants are located in 46 U.S. states. In 2020, Sonic was ranked #14 on QSR Magazine's ranking of the top 50 national fast-casual and fast-casual brands. Known for its use of carports on roller skates, the company holds an annual competition to determine the top skate carports in its system.
