Haute Hijab was born in 2010 out of a struggle familiar to many Muslim women - it was hard to find a comfortable, quality hijab that made me feel confident. I don't understand why clothes of such importance are so often treated as an afterthought. Obviously, I think, we deserve better.
I knew creating the kind of hijab we needed meant taking matters into my own hands. Inspired by the Islamic tradition <i>ihsaan</i>, where I do everything with beauty and excellence, I started Haute Hijab with my co-founder Ahmed Zedan and got to work right away. We spent months finding the perfect fabric to make our hijabs and put them through rigorous testing to ensure they were breathable, comfortable, washable, durable and beautiful - everything you'd expect from a hijab.
