Merry People started as an idea in 2014 out of frustration when I was working for a company in Melbourne, Australia. Due to the city's notoriously unreliable weather, I've been ruining my work shoes; I needed a pair of durable and comfortable boots that would hold up to my commute but also fit into the corporate office.
I took a pretty crazy leap of faith and set about making my own boots. Armed with sketches, I asked a friend for technical help, and the first Merry People boots were born.
