Merry People started as an idea in 2014 out of frustration when I was working for a company in Melbourne, Australia. I've been ruining my work shoes due to the city's notoriously unreliable weather; I needed a pair of boots that were durable and comfortable enough to withstand my commute and fit into a corporate office.
I made a pretty crazy leap of faith and set out to make my own boots. With the sketches in hand, I asked a friend for technical help and the first Merry People boots were born.
